Princess Kate named most relatable royal in new Daily Express poll
Kate tops poll as most relatable royal

Princess Catherine has been named the most relatable royal in a new Daily Express poll, topping the vote ahead of her husband, Prince William, and Princess Anne.

The poll, which ran from 7am on September 28 until 9.30am on October 1, asked readers which royal they thought was most relatable. Out of 2,149 votes, 938 votes (44%) were for Princess Catherine.

Second and third place

Princess Anne was the second most relatable royal according to the poll, with Prince William being named the third most relatable royal. While voters were not able to give reasons for their answers, it is likely that many find Catherine relatable as a result of her down-to-earth personality, which she often shows during public walkabouts.

This is because she tends to talk openly about parenting and her love for the outdoors, and even shares snippets of the family’s home life with the public, showing that they are a pretty normal family away from the royal stage.

Non-royal upbringing

This may be helped by her non-royal upbringing with her Middleton family, which has inspired her own parenting of her royal children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. Despite being a future queen, the Princess of Wales is known to do the daily school run with her children, and frequently attends their sporting matches and school events.

She is also a very hands-on mum at home, and is known to spend time doing arts and crafts with her children, homework and playing on the trampoline. The Princess of Wales even once revealed that she deals with mum guilt in her daily life. She said in 2020 on the Happy Mum, Happy Baby podcast: "Anyone who doesn't as a mother is actually lying!"
