Shoppers can save £42 on a heated clothes airer, making it a timely buy as colder and wetter weather arrives. The Spring & Spruce Speedi Dry Tower XL is up for grabs at £108 down from £149.99 at Yimbly - an online marketplace owned by the Daily Star's parent company, Reach Plc - when the code AUTUMN10 is used.
Features and drying capacity
The Speedi Dry features 36 heated bars that can reach up to 70C, with an adjustable temperature control allowing shoppers to choose between 30C and 70C. There’s space for up to 21.2 metres of laundry or 15kg of wet clothes, while the included heat-insulating cover helps trap warmth around garments to speed up the drying process.
A timer can be set for between one and nine hours before automatically switching the heater off, making it particularly handy for leaving washing to dry overnight. When laundry day is over, the lightweight airer folds down to just 11cm wide for compact storage behind a sofa, under a bed or in a cupboard.
Alternative heated airers
Another option is the Lakeland Tower Airer for £49.99 from Lakeland. This one is a three-tier tower for laundry drying, is said to be ideal for medium family wash loads and offers a 22 metre drying capacity across separate levels.
Dunelm has a 3 Tier Heated Airer for £95 too. It is said to cost approximately 4p per hour to run and offers a 20 metre drying space which is suitable for up to 15kg of washing.
Shopper reviews
The drier is said to cost just 6p per hour to run and has a 21.2 metre capacity. The Spring & Spruce Speedi Dry Tower XL has been rated highly, however. At Yimbly, this person said: “Dries washing overnight. I'm very pleased with my airer. Although I've not used the electric yet, the size allows my washing to dry overnight.”
Some disagreed slightly as one person said: “It’s ok, but jeans and jumpers take two days with or without cover.” But another added: “Happy with purchase - is as described in the pictures/video. I like having control over temperature and time 'on', this was my main reason for buying this particular make, lightweight, folds away (although large as I bought the large one). The only thing on my wish list would be for it to have wheels.”
