Joe Doering, a retired professional wrestler who competed in Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) and All Japan Pro-Wrestling, died on June 26, 2026, at the age of 44. The cause of death was complications from brain cancer, nearly a decade after his initial diagnosis.
TNA Announces Doering's Passing
TNA confirmed Doering's death via social media on Friday, June 26. The organization stated: "We are heartbroken to learn of the passing of Joe Doering. A commanding in-ring performer and a wonderful person, he will never be forgotten. We offer our deepest condolences to his fans, his friends and his family."
Family Confirms Details of His Final Days
Doering's family shared through a verified GoFundMe campaign that he died at 9:13 a.m. on June 26. Mandy Banh, his sister-in-law, initiated the fundraiser to help cover medical expenses after doctors discovered a third brain tumor. The campaign raised over $22,000.
Doering initially left wrestling in 2016 following his first brain tumor diagnosis. He underwent brain surgery in 2022, which led to ataxia—a condition severely impacting his mobility—requiring the use of a wheelchair and walker. Despite this, Banh noted that Doering "remained determined, focused, and most of all — in good spirits" throughout his treatments.
In the months leading up to his death, Doering's health declined after CT scans revealed the tumor was growing. On June 22, the family announced he was entering hospice care, a specialized medical approach focused on comfort for terminally ill patients nearing the end of life.
Tributes from the Wrestling Community
Following the news, numerous wrestlers paid homage. Retired WWE star Adam Pearce wrote on Instagram: "Godspeed, Joe Doering. I didn’t have the good fortune of being around you, but things my friends have said make me wish I had. My heart goes out to his friends, family, and everyone affected. Rest well, sir."
Doering's family expressed gratitude: "Please keep Joe's family and friends in your thoughts during this difficult time. Thank you all for your love, support, and kindness — it has meant so much to us. We love you, Joe. You will be forever in our hearts and deeply missed."
