Frida Redknapp, wife of former Liverpool and England midfielder Jamie Redknapp, has opened up about the daily habits and personal insights she says help keep their marriage strong, acknowledging that "it's easy for couples to drift" when daily life gets hectic.
Daily Habits That Strengthen Their Bond
The 43-year-old model and wellness enthusiast reflected on her life with the former footballer and television pundit, explaining that preserving a strong connection often relies on straightforward daily habits rather than grand romantic displays. Discussing their relationship in Closer, Frida said: "Fitness and healthy living have always been huge parts of my life, but it's so powerful to share those passions with the person you love. When life gets busy with chaotic careers and family commitments, it's easy for couples to drift into their own separate routines."
She revealed that she and Jamie deliberately carve out time together each morning, starting the day with an established pattern that keeps them close despite demanding diaries. "Every single morning starts the same way – we have our wellness shots, Jamie makes me a coffee (he can't cook, but that's his special thing!), and then we train together," she said.
Shared Lifestyle Principles
Frida noted that she and Jamie, who marks his 53rd birthday today, align on numerous lifestyle principles, from fitness to diet, which has bolstered their bond through the years. She explained: "A lot of people think you need grand gestures to keep a relationship strong. But for us, starting the day on the same page and moving our bodies together works wonders. It gives us dedicated time together, away from work and family pressures, and reminds us that no matter how hectic life gets, we're a team."
Her remarks follow previous discussions about the insights she has gained from navigating life in a blended family since marrying Jamie in 2021. The pair wed three years after Jamie's divorce from singer Louise Redknapp in 2018.
Blended Family Dynamics
Frida has four children from her former marriage to American financier Jonathan Lourie, while Jamie is father to sons Charley, 21, and Beau, 17, from his marriage to Louise. The couple also share a son together, Raphael, who arrived in 2021. Speaking to Closer, Frida revealed that patience has been the most crucial element in ensuring their blended family flourishes. "I'm often asked about blending families and what I've learned along the way. The biggest lesson is patience. When new people come into a family, everyone needs time to adjust," she said.
Frida also credited their youngest child for playing a key role in uniting the family. "We've been incredibly lucky, and one of the biggest blessings has been our youngest son, Raphael. In so many ways, he's the glue that holds everyone together. All the siblings adore him and everyone wants to come home and spend time with him. He brings everyone into the same room without even realising it."
Family Meals and Connection
She added that gathering around the dinner table has also been a vital ingredient in forging stronger family ties. "Family meals have helped too. Sitting down together, chatting about our days and spending quality time together has really brought us closer as a family. Those moments of connection matter. Looking back, the key has been giving everyone the time and space to find their place."
