The 2027 edition of the Guinness World Records has been released, chronicling the strangest and most extraordinary achievements of humankind, from the world's tallest living horse to a man whose tattoos cover 90% of his body.
Among the record breakers featured are a 6ft 6in shire horse, a tattooed man and a woman who juggles chairs with her feet. The latest edition also includes the world's tallest horse, a 4,550-piece My Little Pony collection, the biggest fully functioning hairdryer and a foot juggler who can spin a table.
World's Tallest Living Horse
Hugo, from Towcester, Northants., has claimed the title of the world's tallest living horse, towering over owner Lisa Masters at an incredible 6ft 6.3in to the withers, the high point at the base of the neck. Hugo's height had to be officially assessed by a veterinarian, where the giant horse had to be measured without shoes to ensure accuracy. The mystery remains on how he managed to grow that large, as both his parents were average height.
Ms Masters said: "He's a big softie, like an oversized dog."
Foot Juggling and a Narrow Car
Joining Hugo in this year's edition is 36-year-old Emma Phillips, from New Zealand but based in London, who managed 77 foot juggling spins of a table in 30 seconds. She first explored the extraordinary skill in 2009 before travelling across the world to China to train intensively at specialist acrobatic schools. To achieve the world record, Emma lies on her back in a specialist chair and spins a nearly 10kg wooden table on her feet at a maximum speed of 30 seconds, which she describes as extreme cardio.
Andrea Marazzi made it into the hallowed pages by owning the world's narrowest driveable car, measuring just 19.76ins across. Inside the narrow car is just space for the driver, and inside the modified automobile, he can take the vehicle for a spin using a tiny steering wheel. The car, which resembles a ship or a yacht's bow rather than a road vehicle, has a single headlight to help the driver drive at night.
Collections and Tattoos
Susan Burgos of the USA was hopping with delight after being recognised as owner of the world's largest collection of frog-related items at 13,201. This world record is exceptionally special, as she has spoken about achieving a world record for the last decades and achieved it on 12 Jan 2026.
Next is Remy Schofield of Canada, who has been awarded most tattooed person living. In 2024, it was revealed the tattoo lover had spent almost £240,000 on the obsession, and now it has taken him to having multiple layers of tattoos and becoming a world record breaker.
Other Notable Records
Germany's Christian Schafer is in the iconic book after memorising 87 decimal digits under water. Alongside Ruth Amos, who turns children's wildest invention ideas into real working builds, in this case a giant hairdryer, which was inspired by a challenge that received more than 5,000 ideas from children aged 4-11.
Kyle Landi broke the record for the heaviest deadlift (male) (II2) in Burlington, Ontario, Canada, in January this year. He lifted a whopping 117.38kg (258.8lb).
