Gary Barlow has said he is “so happy” to end the year “looking forward and upwards” as Take That unveiled their latest album, Dreamers. The announcement of the 12-track record, their 10th studio album, coincided with the release of its title track on Thursday.
Dreamers will be released on November 20, three years after Take That topped the charts with 2023’s This Life.
Band history and formation
Formed in 1989 in Manchester, Take That were originally made up of Barlow, Howard Donald, Mark Owen, Jason Orange and Robbie Williams. The boyband enjoyed five years of success with tracks such as Pray, Relight My Fire and Back For Good, but they split in 1996, a year after Williams left.
The group reformed in 2006 and have continued to perform and release music, now as a trio comprised of Barlow, Donald and Owen.
Album details and collaborations
Barlow said on Instagram on Thursday that Dreamers had been “two years in the making”, adding: “It’s been a good one. No rush. Lots of quality writing time.
“A wonderful cast list of amazing producers, writers and musicians. Some collaborations. What more could you ask for?
“Thanks to everyone who’s helped us and made it possible. We all can’t wait for you to hear it.
“What a year 2026 has been. So happy we’re ending the year looking forward and upwards.”
The group has previously released tracks from the upcoming record such as You’re A Superstar, Sweet July, along with a collaboration with Irish-American musician Michael Patrick Kelly titled Feel My Love. Other songs to feature include Best Heartbreak, Higher, Who Do You Think You Are and Wonderkids – the latter of which has been described as “a punchy, tongue-in-cheek commentary” on the almost four-decade journey of Take That.
The “bold” and “celebratory” album also includes songs such as Change Of Season, My Love Is Yours, Saint and Masterpiece.
Band statement and upcoming tour
Take That said: “When we were making this album, our 10th as a band, we didn’t set out to write something which reflected on our career together.
“However, in a year which has already been so incredible for us, what transpired when we started to share music and ideas was we had taken the best bits of what we’d learned as Take That and put it into these songs.
“We’re very happy and proud of what we’ve created, and we can’t wait for everyone to hear it.”
The announcement comes months after the group finished their Circus Live Summer 2026 tour, which revived one of the band’s most celebrated live productions. Take That will also embark on the Dreamers tour next summer following the release of the new record, which has been billed as “their biggest European tour in years”.
The group will perform across 31 cities in 16 countries, including the UK, Ireland, Norway, Germany, the Netherlands, Estonia, Switzerland and Denmark.
