Thomas Adey passed away peacefully at St Cuthbert's Hospice on 25th July, aged 84 years. His funeral service will take place at Durham Crematorium on Tuesday 18th August 2026 at 11:00 am. Priscilla (Cilla) Barnes (nee Redfearn) passed away peacefully on 3rd August 2026, aged 78 years. Described as a much loved wife, devoted mam, treasured grandma, dear sister, auntie and loyal friend to many, she will be deeply missed. Her funeral service is at Mountsett Crematorium on Thursday 20th August at 1.15pm, followed by a gathering at Whickham Golf Club. Donations to Critical Care Unit, Queen Elizabeth may be left at the service.

Beloved husband of Mary, much loved dad of Geoff, Carole, Lindsay and Bruce, devoted grandad of 11 and great grandad of 6. Private interment at Trinity Churchyard, Widdrington, followed by Thanksgiving Service at URC Church, Widdrington on Friday 14th August 1pm. Donations to Alnwick Hospice and the URC Church.
Ernest (Ed) Birkett, of Ashington, passed away peacefully on 4th August, aged 86 years. Beloved husband of the late Mary, much loved dad of John and Paul, devoted grandfather of Emily and Lauren. Funeral service and cremation at Cowpen Crematorium on Wednesday 19th August at 10.45 am. Donations to Dementia UK.
Joyce Blench, of Whickham, passed away peacefully at home on 1st August 2026, aged 96 years. Dearly loved wife of the late George, devoted mam to Stephen, Alison and the late John, loving gran to Declan. Funeral service at Saltwell Crematorium on Tuesday 18th August at 10.30am. Donations to Marie Curie.
