Eva Green Hospitalized After Injury on Wednesday Set

Production on Netflix's hit series Wednesday has been halted after actress Eva Green suffered a 'really nasty' injury while filming the third season in Dublin. The 45-year-old former Bond girl, who joined the cast as Aunt Ophelia Frump, was rushed to hospital after the incident.

Injury and Immediate Response

A source told The Sun: 'This was really nasty. Eva sustained an injury and was clearly in pain and producers were taking no chances. Medics were called and Eva went to hospital. She underwent treatment and is now recovering well.'

Shoots have been rearranged to allow Green time to recover. Her character Ophelia is a major player in the upcoming season, as revealed in season two's cliffhanger where the character was seen scrawling 'Wednesday must die' on a wall.

Green's Role and Show's Success

Green, known for her role in Casino Royale, is set to debut in season three as a series regular. Upon casting, she said: 'I can't wait to bring my own touch of cuckoo-ness to the Addams Family. This show is such a deliciously dark and witty world.'

Wednesday has been a massive success for Netflix. Season two racked up 50 million views and topped the global chart within days of its release, with four episodes dropped at once. The budget for the series is reported to be $15 million (£11 million) per episode, with 'no expense spared' according to an insider.

Future Release Plans

Netflix is aiming for a mid to late 2027 release for season three, though no official date has been announced. Metro has reached out to Netflix and Eva's representatives for comment.
