Emmerdale actor Jeff Hordley won the award for best serial drama performance at the National Television Awards 2026, held on Tuesday, September 8, at The O2 in London. His emotional acceptance speech, in which he thanked his real-life wife Zoe Henry, left viewers moved.
A Tribute to His On-Screen and Real-Life Partners
Hordley, who has played Cain Dingle in the ITV soap since 2000, began his speech by thanking those who voted for him. He said: "Thank you to everybody who's voted for me tonight, it means a lot, it takes my breath away. It's been an honour and a huge educational journey for me with this prostate cancer storyline."
He then praised his on-screen wife Natalie J. Robb, who plays Moira, saying: "I want to thank my wing woman, Natalie J. Robb, who makes acting a breeze, every day is a joy working with you."
Turning to his real-life wife Zoe Henry, who portrays Rhona Goskirk in the series, Hordley said: "And, thank you to my real wife, my rock, my soulmate, I am so lucky," before expressing gratitude to their children, Sandy and Violet.

Emmerdale Also Wins Best Serial Drama
Emmerdale also won the award for best serial drama at the NTAs. Katie Hill, who plays Sarah Sugden, accepted the award on stage, saying: "Thank you so so much to everyone who voted, and thank you to all of our viewers who continue to watch and support the show. We wouldn't have one if it weren't for you guys. I wanna give a massive shout out to the amazing team at Emmerdale, the crew, the production team, the writers, the cast, and of course, our wonderful producers, Ian, Sophie, and Maura. There are so many people that work incredibly hard to make Emmerdale what it is, and this award really is for all of these people."
