Emmerdale star Olivia Bromley has said an emotional goodbye to the soap after eight years, following the tragic death of her character Dawn Taylor last month.
Dawn, who arrived in the village in 2018 battling heroin addiction and sex work, had found happiness with Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) and planned to marry him. However, jealousy from ex Billy Fletcher (Jay Kontzle) and Caleb Miligan (William Ash) tore the couple apart. Dawn initially fled with Billy and their children but returned to Joe, reaffirming her love and asking him to marry her—just before Jimmy King (Nick Miles) crashed his car into the marquee.
Olivia Bromley's heartfelt Instagram tribute
Weeks after Dawn's on-screen death, Olivia took to Instagram with a carousel of images from her time on the soap, featuring past and present Emmerdale stars. She wrote: '8 years of a lovely job. This is an absurdly late post, but I have been so blown away by all the lovely messages about Dawn's exit and it has meant so much! So thank you. And to Teresa who simply messaged 'You're dead, get over it' – I KNOW OKAY.'
Co-stars flooded the comments with love. Andrew Scarborough (Graham Foster) wrote 'Very much missed', while Eden Taylor-Draper (Belle Dingle) said 'The best'. Dawn's death has set Joe on a dark path of vengeance. He had Ruby (Beth Cordingly) buried alive, taunted Caleb, and had Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) beaten by Billy after learning of his role in the crash. Meanwhile, Kim Tate (Claire King) and Graham Foster are trying to convince Joe not to have his and Dawn's baby adopted, but so far without success.
