Emmerdale viewers are convinced a former character could be set to return following Dawn Taylor’s tragic death. Dawn (Olivia Bromley) first appeared on the long-running soap in 2018 and quickly became involved in several major storylines in the village.
From overcoming a drug addiction to turning to sex work, Dawn’s time in the village has been full of drama. Last week, a pregnant Dawn was involved in a car crash on her wedding day to fiancé Joe Tate (Ned Porteous). Jimmy King (Nick Miles) crashed his car into the marquee, leaving the three of them fighting for their lives. Jimmy died, but Joe and Dawn managed to escape.
Dawn’s death after premature birth
After being rushed to hospital, Dawn gave birth prematurely to a baby boy. However, in Sunday’s episode (August 30), Dawn died from a massive haemorrhage leading to cardiac arrest.
Now, fans believe a former village resident could head back for Dawn’s funeral. On an Emmerdale Facebook fan page, viewers have predicted the return of her mum Rose (Christine Tremarco).
Fans predict Rose’s comeback
Rose arrived in the Dales in April 2024 and caused plenty of drama. She tried to ruin Kim Tate’s (Claire King) marriage, went missing and was feared dead, before leaving the village in August 2024 for a new life abroad.
“Maybe Dawn’s mum will be back for her funeral?” mused one person. Someone else added: “I’d like that, I liked Rose.” A third chimed in: “Yeah, I thought that. Get her back!”
Before her Emmerdale role, Christine Tremarco appeared in Waterloo Road, Casualty and Clink. She also played Manda Miller in Netflix’s Adolescence and received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series.
Olivia Bromley on her exit
Speaking to The Mirror about her exit, Olivia admitted: “It was the toughest storyline I've done during my time in the soap. I was surprised by how emotional I found it and it was way more emotional than I was expecting.
“I did cry. It is very strange to kill off your character as an actor and in front of your colleagues. But that said, what a gift to be given. Often people leave and just slip off.”
