Ellie Taylor made her debut as the new host of Strictly Come Dancing spin-off It Takes Two on Monday night, September 28, and a body language expert has analysed her first show.
The former Strictly contestant and Ted Lasso star returned to BBC Studios to host the weeknight programme, replacing previous hosts Janette Manrara and Fleur East.
Victory Gestures and a Decisive Clap
Celebrity body language expert Inbaal Honigman, speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk in collaboration with Casino.ca, said the mum-of-one took command of the room the second she walked into the studio.
Honigman said: "Ellie opens the show with a pair of moves that tell the viewers everything they need to know. We see her burst through the double doors with her arms bent upwards, which is a victory gesture."
She added: "Arms raising towards the heavens could suggest faith or self-belief. Wide arms are welcoming and embracing, so we see Ellie rising up to the challenge, determined to feel no fear, and within a second, she claps her hands once."
Signature Moves and Fan Reaction
According to the expert, the decisive clap indicates conviction, commitment and strength, and her wide, courageous steps into the studio show she won't negotiate with worries or doubts. The same pair of gestures occurred again as she faced the camera.
Honigman said: "This might become her signature body language: welcoming arms, determined clap. Ellie is either naturally fearless or has made a clear conscious decision with herself to ignore any fears during the broadcast."
Viewers at home appeared to agree, taking to social media to praise the presenter. One user wrote: "As much as I miss Janette and Fleur, Ellie is a breath of fresh air."
Another said: "Zoe Ball and Claudia Winkleman did it by themselves for years and it worked perfectly back then, so I was delighted to see the show go back to its roots. Plus, Ellie Taylor was magnificent!"
