Shoppers in Newcastle are being invited to vote for their favourite stores, restaurants and other venues as part of the Eldon Square Awards. The annual event celebrates the businesses and people that make up the city centre shopping complex, and customers can cast their votes online until October 16.
Categories and how to vote
The awards feature 13 categories in total, ranging from specialist shops to fast food outlets and mall kiosks. Categories include fashion for womenswear and menswear, as well as footwear, health, beauty, jewellery and accessories. Award titles include Retailer of the Year, Restaurant of the Year, Cafe of the Year and Newcomer of the Year.
Retail teams are also in the spotlight, with a Customer Service Excellence Award and a Rising Star Award among the honours available.
Centre director encourages participation
Helen Cowie, director of the Newcastle shopping centre, said: “The Eldon Square Awards are all about celebrating the brilliant people and businesses that make Eldon Square what it is.” She encouraged those with a favourite place to shop, eat or visit at the centre to “show them some love” and cast a vote.
Voting remains open online until the October 16 deadline. Eldon Square recently hosted its popular student discount night, and new openings are regularly added, with a horror store set to arrive in time for Halloween.
