Dianne Buswell choreographs Strictly waltz with baby son

Strictly Come Dancing professional Dianne Buswell has charmed fans once again after revealing how she created her latest routine with help from a very important person in her life. The dancer shared a video on Instagram showing her practising at home with her baby son, Bowden, strapped to her in a carrier.

Waltz to week three

Buswell returned to the ballroom on Saturday night (October 10) alongside her celebrity partner, Will Best, as the BBC One contest entered week three. The pairing performed a Waltz to 'With You I'm Born Again' by Billy Preston and Syreeta Wright, following two weeks of more energetic routines, including the previous week's Movie Week number, where Best was left without his trousers.

The routine earned 25 points from the judges, an improvement on previous performances, though fans felt the pair were 'undermarked' and unfairly criticised by the judging panel.

Fan reaction

Despite the scores, the voting public backed the couple, and they were confirmed in Sunday's (October 11) results among the 13 couples progressing to week four of the 2026 series, which airs this Saturday (October 17).

Celebrating the result, Best wrote on Instagram: "Well we only went and waltzed our way through to next week!! Thank you SO SO much if you voted!! And thanks @diannebuswell for being the best goddarn teacher a stumbling fool like me could ever hope for. Icons week, heeeere we coooooome!! #strictly."

Choreographing with Bowden

Buswell, who previously involved her partner and former Strictly finalist Joe Sugg in mapping out choreography, this time used their son Bowden, born in March. Captioning the video, she wrote: "Choreographing this beautiful waltz with my little boy in my arms makes the dance even more special."

Fans were quick to respond, with one commenting: "This is so very beautiful you are giving him the most tender and loving memories." Another wrote: "Oh my goodness the way his eyes are looking up at you!"
