Curtis Jones has described his daughter as "the best thing in life" in a heartwarming family update shared on social media. The former Liverpool FC midfielder, who left the club earlier this year after 16 years, is now based in Italy with his fiancée Saffie Khan and their two-year-old daughter Giselle.
Birthday tribute to 'gigi girl'
On October 13, Saffie Khan marked their daughter's second birthday with an Instagram post to her 132,000 followers. She wrote: "Two years of our gigi girl. How are you two already? Watching you grow into your own little person makes me so proud."
She added: "Being your mummy is my favourite thing in the world. Happy second birthday baby girl. We love doing life with you. Forever my best friend." Jones reposted the message to his story with the caption "The best thing in life" and a pink heart emoji.
Family's new life in Milan
The couple, who have been together for several years and welcomed their first child in 2024, relocated to Milan after Jones' transfer to Inter Milan. Saffie, a social media content creator, has been sharing regular glimpses into their new life in Italy.
Her birthday post included a carousel of photos, featuring Giselle smiling while sitting on her dad's shoulders. The 24-year-old also shared images of a birthday set-up in their Milan accommodation, with pink balloons, elegantly wrapped pink presents, and a baby pink birthday cake topped with a pink bow.
Italian connection
Italy holds special significance for the couple. During a trip to Lake Como last year, Jones proposed to Saffie. A picture of the footballer kneeling with an engagement ring was posted online, showing the proposal in front of a floral love heart-shaped arch surrounded by flower petals and candles, with mountains and the lake in the background.
Jones made 228 senior appearances for Liverpool, scoring 22 goals, with his first being a winner in the FA Cup tie against Everton at Anfield.
