Sarah Platt's time behind bars takes a darker turn next week in Coronation Street as she faces blackmail and threats of violence, while Idris Nazir's secret poker scheme unravels, and a mysterious new arrival, Celeste, brings a poignant storyline to Weatherfield.
Sarah's Prison Ordeal
Sarah receives a visit from Todd Grimshaw, who has returned from Thailand, and she reveals she ended things with Kit to protect his career. Later, Kacey, a fellow inmate, begs Sarah to speak to Kit about her son's arrest for armed robbery. When Sarah declines, Kacey turns to threats, warning that if anything happens to her son, it will be on Sarah.
Sarah calls Todd, who urges her to contact Kit, threatening to do it himself if she refuses. Kit visits Sarah, but he explains that helping Kacey could cost him his job. Meanwhile, Adam and Bethany suggest Harry stay with Adam for the rest of the holidays, and Kit reluctantly agrees after Gemma intervenes. At the holiday club, Harry meets Lottie, a new arrival whose son will attend Bessie Street Juniors.
Idris's Poker Night Exposed
Adam advises Alya to hold out for £50k for her share of Speed Daal. Idris, struggling to find the extra £15k, accepts a £5k loan from Leanne. He books Speed Daal for a private poker night, enlisting Ollie and Lauren, and plans to cheat with Ollie as his player. Lauren warns Ollie of the risks, and Kit, learning of the game, insists on joining.
During the game, Ollie wins, but Brody, who has been drinking, reveals the truth to Leanne. Leanne confronts Idris, who argues that he cheated, so her money was never at risk. Fiona, another player, later discovers Ollie is the chef at Speed Daal.
George and Christina's Rift
George cancels Christina's trip to Somerset after learning of her latest spending spree. Christina joins Todd, James, and Sean at the Rovers but leaves early, worried about George. Meanwhile, Celeste arrives, seeking funeral arrangements for herself, revealing she has only six weeks to live. She plans a Dolly Parton-themed service, and her driver Fraser charms Glenda, who agrees to a date.
