Coronation Street fans were quick to call out Kit Green's reaction to Sarah Platt confessing to being responsible for Theo Silverton's death, as they believe they have rumbled his next move.
Sarah's Confession
It was revealed to viewers last month that Sarah was responsible for the abuser's death, which came weeks after Theo's murder in April, before his lifeless body was found by a horrified Betsy Swain on the night of her mother Lisa Swain's wedding to Carla Connor. Theo's death triggered a murder investigation, with Corrie soon confirming his partner and Sarah's best friend Todd Grimshaw as a suspect, along with Summer Spellman, Gary Windass, George Shuttleworth, Christina Boyd, and Theo's ex-wife Danielle Silverton.
In scenes aired in June, viewers watched as Sarah confessed to Todd, while Kit remained determined to pin Theo's murder on Gary, not realizing he is covering for Sarah.
Kit's Proposal and Reaction
During Monday's (July 13) edition, after an upset Maria Windass confided in Sarah that her marriage is falling apart, a distressed Sarah told Gary she is struggling with her guilt. Gary begs her to keep quiet, or he could go to prison. Soon, Sarah arrives home to find Kit has cooked a romantic lunch. Before launching into a typical proposal speech, Kit tells Sarah he feels like he's the last person to know what's going on in her life and they just need to be honest. He then drops to one knee and pulls out an engagement ring, calling her his "soulmate." However, unable to contain herself, Sarah admits she killed Theo and explains what happened. It becomes apparent that her crime doesn't bother him as much as the fact that she turned to Gary for help instead of him.
