The Guardian has issued corrections to several recent articles, including a geographical error about Nepal's Chitwan district, a historical inaccuracy in a book review, a Latin inscription mistake, and a misidentified film image.
Geographical correction
In an article on 28 August about the race to get aid to Nepal and Tibet amid flood warnings, it was incorrectly stated that Nepal's Chitwan district borders Tibet. In fact, Chitwan borders India, not Tibet.
Historical and inscription errors
A review of Robert Harris's novel Agrippa described Octavius as Caesar's nephew, but he was actually his great-nephew. Additionally, the magazine added an extra F to the Latin inscription at the Pantheon entrance. The correct inscription should read: M AGRIPPA L F COS TERTIUM FECIT.
Film image misidentification
An image from the film My Night at Maud's in an article on 22 August showed Françoise Fabian with Antoine Vitez, not Jean-Louis Trintignant as the caption claimed. This error appeared in print only.
Other recently amended articles
Other corrections have been made to articles about London flats without running water, legal logging in Central America, and tributes to Dolly Parton from Miley Cyrus and Taylor Swift.
