Clarkson's Farm star Harriet Cowan has revealed she is recording the audiobook for her upcoming book, Life on the Farm: Resilience, Family and the Realities of a Farming Life. The 25-year-old, who joined the Prime Video show in series four as a temporary replacement for Kaleb Cooper, shared the news in a TikTok video.
In the clip, she is seen seated in a recording studio wearing headphones, and tells the camera: "Ahhhh life is crazy!" She adds: "Life is crazy, what do you mean, suddenly I'm 25 recording the audio to my very own book."
Book pre-orders now open
The book is available to pre-order now ahead of its release on September 10. Its synopsis reads: "In Life on the Farm, Harriet shares just what the farming way of life is, what values she lives by, and what a typical day for a farmer can look like." It continues: "She delves deep into the challenges and realities Britain's farmers are facing today, and how buying local isn't just a slogan, but a way of life. In her warm, hilarious, witty style, join Harriet as she shares life on the farm."
Fans have reacted enthusiastically, with one writing: "Already getting ready to order the book. Can't wait, normally I don't read, but I have a feeling that I will once it's out." Another said: "I need that book!" A third encouraged: "Go Harriet. You are fantastic. We are re-watching Clarkson's Farm. We know you are just being you. Crack on gal." A fourth added: "Ah wow, this is fantastic. You have done so much for the farming industry, especially girls! Best of luck with your book."
Inspiration behind the memoir
Earlier this month, Harriet took part in a Q&A session with her Instagram followers where she revealed further details about the book. "The inspiration behind the book is all about my life... where I grew up, my family, how we got into farming and how I got on Clarkson's Farm," she said. "And it's all around British farming."
She continued: "People think farmers moan all the time, but 99 per cent of us think it's the best job in the world. My favourite thing about farming is probably tractors... getting to have them and drive them as a young 25-year-old woman is the best thing in the world." She added: "In the book there is lots of things you will learn about me that I'm sure nobody knows - mainly because I keep so many things private."
