Golden BBQ, an independent kebab house on Caerphilly Road in Cardiff, has been named the best takeaway in the south west and Wales by Just Eat. The title came after more than 100,000 votes were cast to crown the best takeaway spots across the UK.
Award history for the family-run business
This is not the first time the family-run kebab shop has been recognised. Since opening in 2008, it has won the Wales Kebab House of the Year award at the British Kebab Awards in 2018, 2019, 2022 and earlier this year.
Owner's reaction to the win
Owner Mustafa Ocak said: "Winning this award from Just Eat is a really proud moment for all of us at Golden BBQ. We’ve always put our heart into what we do, from the quality of our food to the service we give every customer."
"To be recognised means so much to us, especially because it reflects the support and loyalty of our customers. We wouldn’t be here without them."

20 years of service and a customer discount
Mustafa, originally from Turkey, took over what was a pizza takeaway in 2008 and has helped the business thrive for nearly 20 years. The latest award comes as Just Eat celebrates 20 years of serving customers in the UK.
In honour of the anniversary, customers can get 20% off the full menu at Golden BBQ until the end of September.
