Cardiff came alive in a spectacle of joy and determination as tens of thousands of runners and supporters took part in the city's 23rd half marathon on Sunday. The sun was shining for what is one of the major events in the city's calendar.
Runners followed a 13.1-mile route taking in the city's landmarks, starting at the castle before going on past the Principality Stadium, Cardiff City Stadium and on through Penarth Marina to Cardiff Bay. From there they went on towards Roath Park before finishing in the Civic Centre.
Famous faces and record-breaking performances
Wales and Cardiff City legend Aaron Ramsey returned to Cardiff to race around the city's streets in just one hour 22 minutes and nine seconds. Plenty of humour was had along the way with runners dressed in an array of fancy dress from Superman to aliens right through to a banana.
Kenya's Joyciline Jepkosgei set the new women's record for the course, winning the Cardiff 2026 Half Marathon in a time of 1:05:40. Ethiopian pair Wede Kefale and Tigist Tesema came second and third.
Fundraising and community spirit
Many were running for good causes and in memory of friends and relatives. Those taking part in the Cardiff Half Marathon 2026 are expected to have raised more than £4 million for good causes.
Here are some of the best pictures from a great day. Well done to all the runners.
