After nearly 700 nominations, the 11 best places for Sunday dinner in the North East have been shortlisted, and readers are now being asked to pick a winner. The poll closes on Friday, October 2.
Last year, almost a thousand votes were cast in the 2025 contest, which became a two-horse race between The Gibside Hotel in Whickham and The Tempus in Northumberland. The Gibside took the crown, but this year's winner has not made the shortlist, with several venues tied on votes, extending the top 10 to a top 11.
