Dame Jenni Murray, the veteran BBC broadcaster, died as a result of an accidental fall at her home in London, a coroner has concluded.
Inquest findings
The inquest, held at Westminster Coroner's Court, heard that the 76-year-old was found unresponsive at her residence. Paramedics were called, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.
The coroner recorded a conclusion of accidental death, stating that the fall was the cause of the injuries that led to her death.
Career and legacy
Dame Jenni was best known for presenting BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour, a role she held for 33 years before stepping down in 2020. She was also a familiar face on television, having presented BBC One's pros and cons programme.
Her death was announced by her family in a statement released earlier this week, which described her as a "trailblazing broadcaster" and a "much-loved mother and grandmother".
The inquest heard that she had been in good health and that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death.
