Ari Emanuel, the executive chairman of WME Group, has issued a blunt verdict on his former client Meghan Markle. Confirming he "parted ways" with the Duchess last year, Emanuel told the Sunday Times: "Here's the great thing: I don't have to think about that any more."
Short-lived professional relationship
Markle signed with WME in April 2023 to reportedly build her global brand after leaving the royals, focusing on film and television production for Archewell, the media company she founded with Prince Harry. Neither Meghan nor Ari has ever commented on their professional relationship, but it is understood to have soured quickly.
According to Page Six, Ari quickly dropped off her account and did not have any meetings since January 2024. The WME agency continues to represent Meghan and Archewell.
Client list and career rumours
Aside from Meghan, Ari's client list includes Mark Wahlberg, Ben Affleck, Dwayne Johnson and Kim Kardashian. While little is known about what is next for her acting career, rumours that Meghan was in talks to star in the third season of Guy Ritchie's series The Gentlemen were dismissed by star Theo James as "hot air". It was also reported that she was dropped after backlash from UK fans.
Before meeting Prince Harry, Meghan played lawyer Rachel Zane in more than 100 episodes of the legal drama Suits.
Future plans unclear
It is unclear what the Sussexes' plan is for their business ventures after returning to the UK in August, following a six-year stint in Montecito, California, with their children Archie and Lilibet. Earlier this month, it emerged that the Sussexes will be given a review of their publicly funded security following their move back.
