Alex Jones became emotional live on air as she congratulated Sara Cox on landing the BBC Radio 2 breakfast show role. The moment came during Friday's episode of The One Show, where Alex and co-star Clara Amfo were joined by the radio presenter.
Sara Cox's new Radio 2 role
Sara, 51, recently took over the station's flagship breakfast show from Scott Mills and has been behind the microphone for two months. She joined Alex and Clara to discuss her upcoming appearance at Radio 2 in the Park and how she has been settling into her new morning show.
At the time, Sara said she was "ecstatic, honoured and incredibly chuffed" to be taking over the show, adding: "It's been a dream to host the breakfast show since I joined Radio 2 and it feels like a bit of a full circle for me."
Alex's emotional reaction
Alex was quick to congratulate her, saying: "Now we have to talk about The Breakfast Show, congratulations." She then asked Sara: "How does it feel because you've been doing it for two months now?"
Sara admitted she was loving every minute of her new job, describing it as "the best job in the world". She said: "It feels incredible, it's just the best job in the world and I just absolutely love it."
Sara praised the show's listeners and music, saying: "Brilliant listeners, excellent music, and some lovely guests. It's an absolute dream job. I spend the first few hours of my day genuinely laughing, jumping about and being daft."
It was Sara's excitement that appeared to get Alex emotional. Looking at Sara, Alex said: "Seeing your little face nearly makes me cry, honestly." Clara then added: "That's the thing. Your joy is so palpable."

EastEnders star Tameka Empson was also on the sofa, teasing what viewers can expect as her character Kim Fox prepares to tie the knot. SNL UK stars Ania Magliano and Paddy Young also joined Alex and Clara ahead of the new series.
