Supermodel Alessandra Ambrosio has announced her engagement to Australian jewellery designer Buck Palmer after nearly two years of dating. The 45-year-old Brazilian shared the news on Instagram with a series of romantic photos from a beachside proposal in Indonesia.
In one photo, the couple embrace inside a large heart made of red flowers. Another shows matching heart tattoos on their wrists. The engagement had been kept private for four months before going public.
Proposal at NIHI Sumba Resort
The proposal took place at the luxury NIHI Sumba resort, where Buck got down on one knee on the beach. Ambrosio captioned the post: "I’d choose you in this life and every life. Here’s to forever, my love."
Celebrity friends including Camila Cabello, Ricky Martin, Heidi Klum, and Ashley Graham congratulated the couple in the comments.
Career Highlights
Ambrosio began modelling at age 12 after enrolling in classes in Brazil. She became a finalist in the Elite Model Look competition in 1996. She was later selected for Guess' Millennium campaign and made her first Victoria's Secret runway appearance in 2000.
In 2004, she officially became a Victoria's Secret Angel, beginning a 17-year stint. She wore the Fantasy Bra twice, in 2012 and 2014, and walked her final Victoria's Secret show in Shanghai in 2017.
Beyond the runway, she has appeared on more than 70 magazine covers and fronted campaigns for major fashion and beauty brands.
