Newcastle United legend Alan Shearer has had a summer of weddings, with both of his daughters tying the knot. Hollie Shearer married England rugby union star Joe Marchant earlier this summer, and Chloe Shearer followed suit in Yorkshire.
Hollie's wedding in France
Hollie, the younger daughter, married Marchant in the picturesque town of L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, east of Avignon. Alan wore a cream linen suit to match the groom and groomsmen, and shared a photo from the celebrations on Instagram with the caption: "Wow!!! What a weekend. Daughter number 2 now married. Congratulations Mr & Mrs Marchant!"
Hollie lives in France, where Marchant plays for Stade Francais after moving from Harlequins in December 2022. The couple went public with their romance in April 2022, and Alan joked about his daughter's new man: "I'm just glad it's not a footballer."
Hollie's career and following
Hollie has built a large social media following, with hundreds of thousands of followers across Instagram and TikTok. She is also a singer-songwriter, with her top song on Spotify racking up around 1.5 million plays. Her bikini snaps, often taken in the French sun, are popular with fans.
The couple got engaged in November 2024, when Marchant proposed in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, and married almost 18 months later.
Chloe's wedding in Yorkshire
A couple of months after Hollie's wedding, Chloe married rugby union star Micky Young, a scrum half for Gloucester, in a lavish ceremony in Yorkshire. Chloe wore a strapless lace gown and posed with her father holding a bouquet. Young, a former Newcastle Falcons player, wore a white tuxedo.
TNT Sports' Kelly Somers commented: "I knew you’d be a stunning bride @chloeshearer1 but honestlyyyyy - unreal." Holly Willoughby added: "What a beautiful bride…just wonderful…happy days!"
Chloe's career in talent management
Chloe works in talent management and has been involved in Soccer Aid. Sharing a snap alongside Michael Essien, she said: "Soccer Aid 2024...My second Soccer Aid and it was both bigger and better than last year, which I didn’t think was possible! Spent the week working with an amazing bunch of legends, topped off with an incredible amount of money raised for UNICEF!"
Chloe keeps her private life mostly out of the public eye but shared wedding snaps on Instagram, where she has 20,000 followers. She also posted bikini photos from her hen-do at Beachhouse Playa d’en Bossa Ibiza, with fans commenting "Love this! You look amazing" and "So gorgeous!"
