Newcastle's Cosy Joes bar has announced its annual karaoke competition, with £1,400 in cash prizes on offer for the city's next singing sensation. The Groat Market venue will crown its 2026 champion following a series of heats held over four consecutive Thursdays.
Heats and final dates
The heats will take place on September 24, October 1, October 8 and October 15, with singers progressing from each to the grand final on Thursday, October 22. Entry is completely free, with limited spaces for walk-ins available every week. Those wishing to enter in advance can email brooke@cosyjoes.co.uk.
Following last year's champion
All entrants will hope to follow in the footsteps of last year's champion, Tony Souter, who impressed with his rendition of "Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me." The competition has crowned numerous champions over the last decade, and Cosy Joes is now seeking Newcastle's latest karaoke icon.
