LuAnn VanBuskirk, who nearly died in a truck crash in Michigan, US, at age 18, claims she came face-to-face with God and received a startling warning. After making a mistake at a four-way turn while riding her bike, a truck clipped her, and she almost lost her life.
A Terrifying Encounter
VanBuskirk says she looked down at herself from above in what she describes as a full-blown near-death experience (NDE). Unlike more peaceful accounts, she claims she was almost dragged into the depths of hell. Her encounter began when she looked down and saw "gnarly" fingers clutching her arm.
Speaking to God Encounters with Janie DuVall on YouTube, she said she was powerless to resist the "evil" entity as it transported her to a city enshrouded in yellow fog. A thunder clap erupted above her, and the voice of God spoke—but the Lord was not pleased with how she had lived.
God's Warning and Her Realization
VanBuskirk says she had derided God in the past, and he was illustrating what would happen if she didn't accept him. According to her, God said plainly: "My word says." She realized she was "going to hell based on my own free will choices," having drunk alcohol and smoked cannabis.
She told the Lord she knew Jesus Christ, but "when it spoke, it did the same thing," producing a "thunderous" sound that "shook" her like "a dead man twice." The sound said: "Even the very demons believe in Jesus. How do you say you do better?"
Signs and a Changed Life
God guided VanBuskirk through each of her sins and gave her a chance to accept him. After feeling "spiritual" pain, she decided to clean up her act. She previously wondered that if God were real, "why would he let this happen" to her, but the NDE made her a true believer.
She also claims she was sent signs, including an encounter with John the Baptist and a nun she says was Mary, mother of Christ. VanBuskirk added that she later met her paternal family, as well as her uncle and his wife, who helped her find her feet.
