As The One Show celebrates its 20th anniversary with Alex Jones and Roman Kemp at the forefront, many former presenters have returned to show support. Here's where seven of them are now.
Adrian Chiles and Christine Lampard
Adrian Chiles was the first presenter to host The One Show when it launched in 2006. He first hosted alongside Nadia Sawalha but later presented regularly with Christine Lampard before the pair left the BBC for ITV in 2010. Since then, Adrian has continued to work across television, radio and journalism. He is now particularly well known for his writing, with a regular column for The Guardian covering everything from football and everyday life to his own experiences. He remains a familiar voice on radio and, in 2026, returned to The One Show as part of the programme's 20th-anniversary celebrations.
Christine Lampard, formerly Christine Bleakley, joined the programme in 2007 and became closely associated with Adrian Chiles during their time together on the BBC show. The pair subsequently moved to ITV, where Christine continued to build an impressive television career. She is best known for her work on ITV's Loose Women, having become a permanent presenter after initially guest-anchoring the programme in 2016. Christine has also become a familiar face on This Morning, where she has regularly stepped in as a presenter. In summer 2026, she joined the show's presenting line-up to provide cover while Loose Women was off air. Away from television, Christine is married to former England football manager Frank Lampard. The couple, who married in 2015, have two children together.
Jason Manford and Matt Baker
Jason Manford's stint on The One Show was relatively brief compared with some of his fellow presenters. The comedian joined the programme in 2010 but stepped down later that year, returning his attention to his comedy career. That decision certainly didn't signal the end of his television career. Jason has gone on to become one of Britain's best-known stand-up comedians, while also taking on acting and presenting work. His television credits have included roles in shows such as Ordinary Lies and The Royal Variety Performance, alongside numerous entertainment programmes. In 2021, Jason hosted the BBC game show, Unbeatable. But the show came to an end with no more new series in 2023. Comedy remains his main focus. His A Manford All Seasons tour continues across the UK in 2026, with dates including Nottingham, Salisbury, Chatham and Great Yarmouth.
Matt Baker became one of The One Show's most recognisable presenters during his nine years on the programme. After leaving in 2020, he continued to work in television, particularly on programmes centred around the countryside and rural life. The star still continued his role on Countryfile and also had his own family based farm type show. He has also moved into production. Matt is Creative Director of Big Circus Media, the production company he helped establish, and remains heavily involved in producing and directing its programmes. The company has several new projects in the works for 2026, including a BBC Two series and programmes for More4. His career has therefore evolved from being solely in front of the camera to helping create the programmes themselves.
Jermaine Jenas and Ronan Keating
Jermaine Jenas' career after football initially appeared to be following a very different trajectory. The former England and Tottenham midfielder successfully moved into broadcasting after retiring from professional football, becoming a regular football pundit before joining The One Show. He became a permanent presenter in 2021 and was also a regular face on Match of the Day and other BBC football coverage. However, his BBC career came to an abrupt end in August 2024. The BBC terminated Jermaine's contract following complaints concerning workplace conduct and messages sent to female colleagues. He subsequently lost his roles on both The One Show and Match of the Day. Since then, he has largely stayed away from mainstream television. In June 2026, Jermain gave his first major television interview since his dismissal, appearing on Good Morning Britain to discuss the impact the past two years had had on his life. He described the period as extremely difficult and said he had lost his job and family life as he had known it. Jermain also said he accepted that he put himself in the position he found himself in and had spoken about learning from what happened.
Ronan Keating brought his experience as a musician to The One Show, becoming a regular presenter alongside Alex Jones and Jermaine Jenas. Although his time on the programme ended in August 2023, music has remained at the heart of his career. Ronan has continued performing as a solo artist and returned to the stage with Boyzone in 2026. The band reunited for shows at London's Emirates Stadium as part of what was billed as their final performances. In July 2022, Ronan's son Jack joined the cast of Love Island. He then returned in 2026 for the All-Star Series.
Chris Evans
Chris Evans is another presenter whose career has continued to thrive away from The One Show. With years of broadcasting behind him, Chris joined the programme in 2010, taking over the Friday presenting role after Adrian Chiles' departure. He remained with the show until 2015, when he left to focus on Top Gear. But radio has always been Chris' natural home. After leaving BBC Radio 2 in 2018, he moved to Virgin Radio UK, where he has continued to host the Chris Evans Breakfast Show. As of 2026, the programme remains a major part of the station's schedule, with Evans's breakfast show broadcasting on weekday mornings. He has also been revisiting one of his most famous television creations. TFI Friday Unplugged, a stripped-back revival of his iconic 1990s programme, launched in 2026, initially through Virgin Radio and YouTube before moving to Channel 4. The One Show airs weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
