Victoria Beckham played a key role in Mel C's wedding day, designing the bride's dress, despite not attending the ceremony. Mel C, also known as Melanie Chisholm, married Australian model Chris Dingwall in the Lake District on Saturday, July 18, 2026, wearing a custom Victoria Beckham ivory lace silk slip dress.
Wedding Details and Dress Design
The couple's legal ceremony had taken place earlier in Sydney, where Mel C's "something borrowed" came from Posh Spice's own wardrobe, inspiring the final dress. Victoria Beckham said of the design: "Melanie is quite minimalist and didn’t want anything too fussy, conceptual or overly complicated – this is all very aligned with what I do."
Mel C added: "Victoria was so excited about being able to do this for me, and having her and (daughter) Scarlett there every step of the way has been very special. Plus, I just love her clothes."
Mel C's Reflections on Marriage
The 52-year-old singer told British Vogue, which had exclusive access to the wedding: "I’ve had this awakening in my 50s – I’m very comfortable in my skin." She added: "I thought, you know what, this is a part of my story. When you’re my age you’re like… I actually want to experience all of the things."
Speaking about Dingwall, who proposed in July 2025 while on holiday in Mallorca, she said: "The spark was immediate. I was 49 when I met Chris and I was in a really good place. We had a date in Australia, and it’s been difficult to separate us ever since."
Spice Girls Attendance and Family Dynamic
Three of her Spice Girls bandmates – Melanie Brown, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell – attended the wedding. Mel C described Dingwall as fitting perfectly with her and her 17-year-old daughter Scarlett: "I’m a single mum. My daughter is 17, and we’re pretty resilient the two of us, we’re a team. For anybody coming into our world… it was going to be tough, and he just fits perfectly. It’s a beautiful dynamic."
