Newcastle bar's United-themed menu may drop Bruno burger if he leaves
United-themed menu may drop Bruno burger if he leaves

Newcastle Restaurant Week returns at the start of August, and one bar is offering a United-themed menu. Shearer's, the famous St James' Park haunt, has created burgers inspired by Magpies first team stars. However, one dish may need to be removed if captain Bruno Guimaraes leaves the club amid ongoing transfer speculation.

Restaurant Week set for August 3

The event runs from August 3, featuring a variety of cuisines across Newcastle city centre. Shearer's is among the pubs and bars taking part, continuing its playful approach from the previous Restaurant Week in January.

United-themed burgers on offer

Menu items include the Lewis Smiley, Big Dan, Joezilla, and The Holy Popey. The Bruno Guimaraes burger, named BG39 – The Geordie Gaucho, combines Buttermilk Chicken, Swiss Cheese, Fried Pickles, House Sauce, and Iceberg Lettuce. It pays tribute to the Brazilian midfielder who joined from Lyon in 2022 and became a cult hero.

Bruno's future uncertain

Reports on Tuesday morning indicated Arsenal were in advanced talks for Bruno, a day after he posted a fishing photo in Brazil wearing a hat reading 'Newcastle born and bred'. If he departs, Shearer's may need to hastily revamp its menu.
