Tatton Park in Cheshire is marking Winnie-the-Pooh's 100th birthday with a special garden story trail and farm exhibition this summer. The events, created in collaboration with HarperCollins, run from July 18 to September 6.
Three Cheers for Pooh! Garden Story Trail
The 'Three Cheers for Pooh!' garden story trail brings together favourite excerpts from A.A. Milne's tales with E.H. Shepard's iconic illustrations. Families can explore 50 acres of formal gardens, woodlands, and pathways, encountering moments from the classic stories, including Pooh with his honeypot, Tigger bouncing, and the Poohsticks Bridge.
Winnie-the-Pooh Centenary Exhibition
Down on the Farm, the Winnie-the-Pooh Centenary Exhibition invites visitors to explore the original books, their creation, and the charm of the Hundred Acre Wood. In the Farm's original mill and Land Agents office, visitors can learn about A.A. Milne and E.H. Shepard. Children can enjoy the adventure play area, discover animal habitats, play in the Maize Maze, and attend daily storytelling sessions.
A spokesperson said: "Together, the exhibition and story trail create a charming, immersive celebration of Pooh's 100th anniversary at one of Cheshire's most beloved historical estates."
Special Events and Merchandise
Author Jane Riordan, known for 'Once There Was a Bear' and other authorised Pooh titles, will host special storytelling sessions for children on August 1. HarperCollins has released new editions of classic titles, available at Tatton Park gift shops alongside Pooh merchandise.
Admission and Passes
The Centenary Exhibition is free with standard farm admission (Tuesday to Sunday, 11am to 4pm). The garden trail is free with garden admission (daily 10am to 6pm). A money-saving park and play summer pass allows vehicle parkland entry all summer for £20 (available online before July 31). A Totally Tatton ticket saves 40% on entry to gardens, mansion, and farm, valid for 12 months.
