The coming-of-age drama Sterling Point has landed on Prime Video, with all eight episodes released on August 5. The series follows 17-year-old Annie Jacobson, who inherits her grandfather's island in Canada.
Plot and early reception
According to Prime Video's synopsis: "Raised in New York City with her twin brother (Keen Ruffalo) and loving adoptive father (Jay Duplass), Annie's life takes a turn when she inherits her mysterious grandfather's island in Canada. There, she finds new friends, budding romances and untold family secrets."
The show has already earned a 94 per cent score on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics praising it as "one of the most authentic YA shows in years" with "likeable" characters.
Star-studded cast
Ella Rubin stars as Annie. The 24-year-old began her career as a child actress in 2014's The Rewrite alongside Hugh Grant and Marisa Tomei. She has since appeared in the Gossip Girl reboot, The Idea of You, Anora, Until Dawn, and Fear Street: Prom Queen.
Amélie Hoeferle, who plays Ramona, is known for her role as Vipsania Sickle in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes. She has also appeared in Night Swim, The Boogeywoman, and Eddington.
Keen Ruffalo, who plays Connor, is the son of Mark Ruffalo. His credits include minor roles in Thor: Ragnarok and Begin Again.
Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays Joe, is famous for his role as Negan in The Walking Dead and its spin-off The Walking Dead: Dead City. He has also appeared in Supernatural, Watchmen, and P.S. I Love You.
Jay Duplass, an actor and director, plays the adoptive father. He is set to star in the 2026 horror Other Mommy and has directed See You When I See You.
Bo Bragason, who plays Oona, is cast as Princess Zelda in the live-action Legend of Zelda film. She is also known for Three Girls, The Jetty, The Radleys, Renegade Nell, and King & Conqueror.
Missi Pyle, another recognisable face, has appeared in Galaxy Quest, Home Alone 4, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, and Just My Luck.
Other cast members include Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie, Daniel Quinn-Toye, Nikko Angelo Hinayo, Mabel Strachan, and Elle-Maija Talifeathers.
