Scouse Prints: 23-Year-Old's Art Celebrates Liverpool Culture

Hollie Scott, 23, from Old Swan, has turned her graphic designs into a full-time business selling vibrant prints that celebrate Liverpool. Scouse Prints, which she founded after leaving school, produces cards, canvases, and T-shirts featuring cultural symbols from hair rollers to Hey Jude and Nike 110s.

From iPad Hobby to Full-Time Business

Scott began creating designs on her iPad at 21, shortly after leaving school. She officially started the business at 22, and within a year it became her full-time job. Her work is now stocked online and at sites and pop-ups across the city, including Red Brick Market.

Her designs pay homage to famous Beatles lyrics, Liverpool FC, and Scouse 'doll' fashion and phrases. They have proved popular with both Liverpudlians and tourists seeking a keepsake of their time in the city.

Custom Prints and Memories

Scott has also created custom prints to help people remember special moments. She said: "Especially on the docks, people always have a memory. I did a print for someone of the Beatles statues with Everton scarves on. He was made up to have his favourite things all mixed up."

Her designs also include modern, graphic takes on iconic architecture like the Liver Building and Albert Dock. Others remember bygone locations, such as the legendary Liverpool nightclub Garlands Gay Bar, where Scott used to go "all the time" before it closed in 2019.

Supportive Artistic Community

Speaking of the artistic community in Liverpool, Scott said: "Everyone supports each other so much. People try to help each other, especially in Red Brick Market. I couldn't imagine doing this in any other city, if I'm honest."
