The winners of the Food Awards Scotland 2026 have been announced, with businesses across the country being recognised for their dedication, passion and creativity. From the best café of the year to the best fish and chips, this year's winners have been crowned.
On August 17, the Food Awards Scotland 2026 took place at DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central. Organised by Oceanic Awards, the 30 categories highlighted Scotland's reputation as a world-class food destination, with awards also handed out for excellence and outstanding achievement.
Restaurant of the Year and Top Winners
Claiming the top spot for Restaurant of the Year at the twelfth annual award ceremony was Round Island Café Bar in the Isle of Cumbrae, with The Woodsman Restaurant Fishcross in Alloa receiving an award for excellence. Sharing their excitement with loyal customers, the Round Island Café Bar uploaded a sweet post on social media of the moment the team found out they had won the award. Along with loud cheers, the cafe noted a sincere 'thank you' in the caption.
Meanwhile, Doner Angelina in Dunfermline was awarded Takeaway of the Year. Sharing their gratitude on Instagram, the team confessed that they are "absolutely speechless" with the top prize. They added: "From a little family business built from a dream, to standing here tonight holding another incredible award… this means more to us than we could ever put into words. This is YOUR win too! Every order, every review, every share, every recommendation and every visit helped us get here. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for believing in us and supporting our little dream."
Bakery and Burger Bar Honours
A small bakery in Stirling was also able to clinch first place from establishments in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Taking to Facebook, they wrote: "We honestly can’t quite believe we’re writing this again. Vera Artisan Bakery has been named Best Bakery in Scotland at the Food Awards Scotland for the FOURTH time!" Homestead Smokehouse in Ayr also took time to thank its hard working team on Facebook after being crowned Burger Bar of the Year. They wrote: "For all of our team, this was their first ever awards ceremony. We went along as finalists, hoping for the best, and ended up standing on that stage together as Burger Bar of the Year 2026. We're incredibly proud of what we've built at Homestead, but even prouder of the young team helping us build it every week."
