Rutherglen and Cambuslang pubs host 10-day cider festival

An Ruadh Ghlean in Rutherglen and The John Fairweather in Cambuslang will host a 10-day craft cider festival from Friday, July 31, to Sunday, August 9. The Wetherspoon pub on Main Street will offer a range of craft ciders from across the UK.

Festival details

The craft ciders, including traditional apple ciders, perries and flavoured ciders, will cost £2.99 a pint. Offerings include Farmer Jims Prickly Pear, Hecks Slack-Ma-Girdle Cider, Purbeck Dandy Dab, Rich’s Sunset Gold, Thistly Cross Jaggy Thistle, Harry’s Scrummage and Pulp Razzberry Rush.

Three third-of-a-pint tasters will also be available for the price of a pint. Tasting notes on all ciders will be available at the pub and digitally via the Wetherspoon app and website.

Manager's comment

An Ruadh Ghlean pub manager Kat Scouller said: “The festival is a great celebration of craft cider. It will allow us to showcase a number of craft ciders not previously available to our customers in the pub.”

All craft ciders can be ordered at the bar or via the Wetherspoon app.
