Robbie Williams headlined the first night of the Kalorama Music Festival in Lisbon, Portugal, on Friday night, wearing a big, bright red, furry jacket that drew comparisons to Sesame Street's Elmo.
The 52-year-old pop singer entertained the crowd at Bela Vista Park with a string of his biggest hits, including Rock DJ, Millennium, and the Take That classic Relight My Fire, originally released by Dan Hartman.
Red furry jacket and on-stage style
Rob took to the stage in the large, fluffy red coat, prompting some to joke that he looked ready for a walk down Sesame Street. He soon stripped off the heavy-looking jacket in the late summer heat, performing in a red vest and sports joggers.
Speaking to SIC Noticias before his performance, the chart-topping star said he still enjoys singing for his fans. He told the Portuguese outlet: "[My audience] is very affectionate, very kind, compassionate and very empathetic... I'm traveling the world and being loved by people."
Explaining that he still gets a rush under the spotlight with his band behind him, he added: "It's crazy, it's chaotic, it's beautiful, it's terrifying."
Hair loss admission
Earlier in the week, Robbie appeared on The Steve Bracknall podcast, where he opened up about his fears over losing his hair. He said he uses styling tricks, including hair thickening products, to cover the loss.
He said: "I'm losing my hair – this is all powder and scaffolding now. Can you see the powder? ... I'm a popstar, that's what I do for a living and you're supposed to have some sort of looks and some sort of hair."
Asked if he is truly worried about losing his hair, Rob said: "I am because I've got powder in, that's why it looks alright, but it's on its way out." He added: "I'm thinking about getting one of those hair systems. Have you seen them?"
