Pete Wicks has hinted at taking the next step in his relationship with Olivia Attwood, revealing he would love to welcome more dogs into their lives. The Only Way is Essex star appeared on This Morning on Monday, 28 September, where he spoke about his new series of Pete Wicks: For Dogs' Sake.
Hard-launching the relationship
Pete began dating Love Island star Olivia earlier this year, after her split from footballer Bradley Dack. Olivia had been in a public relationship with Dack for more than 10 years, but confirmed they were over “for good” in January.
Since then, the couple have hard-launched their relationship on social media with a series of steamy snaps that left fans hailing the new couple. When asked about the launch, Pete joked: “Yes there has been… it seems to be at the minute that any picture I share is another hard launch! We’re launching more than Nasa.”
Sharing a love for dogs
Speaking to hosts Cat Deeley and Ben Shephard, Pete discussed his new series, which follows him helping to rehabilitate rescue dogs at Dogs Trust rehoming centres. He said: “It’s a struggle for me to call this work. I’ve done it for so many years outside of TV, so to combine both is incredible.”
He added: “I’ll do it till the day, it’s whether or not the camera comes with me and how long I’ve got left!” Pete also said: “My name might be on the show, but it’s nothing to do with me. It’s all to do with the dogs first and foremost, but second to that, it’s the people that work in the rescue centres.”
More dogs on the horizon
When Ben asked about the possibility of another dog joining the family, Pete revealed that between them, they shared three big dogs. He replied: “Listen, I would always love to take more dogs. My mission in life is to disappear from society, buy some land and just live with dogs. But I think I’m a little way off that, yet.”
Viewers were previously thrilled at the new series of For Dogs' Sake, which is returning to U&W from Monday, 28 September at 9pm. One person wrote on social media: “We, the public, demand 52 episodes a year.” Another said: “Can't wait for the new series to start. Love seeing Pete and the genuine affection he has for all of the "puppies" he meets. What a beautiful boy Rodney is. I applaud everyone who works for Dogs Trust and love seeing the difference they make for so many little ones who are rescued.”
Someone else wrote: “Looking forward to watching it,” another added: “Can't wait, he's a great ambassador for Dogs Trust!” Yet another echoed: “So pleased his coming back his so good on that series and i feel for him when he falls in love with every dog he comes into contact with i would do the same. The staff at the dogs trust do such a amazing job.”
