Peaky Blinders Live Experience Opens in London This Summer

Fans of the acclaimed crime drama Peaky Blinders will soon have the chance to step into the shadowy world of Tommy Shelby. A new live experience is set to open in London this summer, ahead of a forthcoming spin-off TV series.

What is the Peaky Blinders Underworld Experience?

Titled 'Peaky Blinders Underworld', the immersive event is based on Steven Knight's award-winning series, which follows a gang led by the notorious Tommy as he sets out to carve out an empire for himself and his family in 1919 Birmingham. From August, guests will be transported into the gritty underworld through a combination of gameplay, live entertainment, and actor-led encounters.

The journey begins at The Garrison Tavern, a faithfully recreated post-Second World War pub, designed to immediately immerse visitors in the atmosphere. Beyond the tavern, participants can discover if they have what it takes to join the syndicate and become a Peaky Blinder, exploring themed environments from the series including Garrison Lane, the bookies, Chinatown, and the Small Heath fairground. Each of the areas will offer its own distinctive atmosphere, engaging gameplay, and hands-on challenges.

Location and Features

Set within the historical railway arches close to London Bridge Station, the immersive experience will also feature actor-driven encounters, pushing guests further into the Peaky Blinders world and testing their alliances. Steven Knight said: “Peaky Blinders Underworld is not just a recreation of the Shelby family’s world but a much wider destination. This venue gives fans the opportunity to socially engage with their beloved series through a completely new prism, while those less familiar with the show will find plenty to love about it too.”

Beyond the main experience, The Garrison Tavern will include a dedicated events space, hosting a programme of special late-night performances, live music and themed events that will bring the illicit world to life after dark.

Background on Peaky Blinders

Peaky Blinders launched in 2013 and ran for six series until 2022, starring Cillian Murphy as the ruthless Tommy. A feature-length film, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, was released earlier this year, with Murphy reprising his role alongside Saltburn actor Barry Keoghan as Duke.

The BBC announced a spin-off series of the show, set a decade after the events of the film, is in the works. It will follow Shelby’s family as they navigate the aftermath of the Second World War. Set in 1950s Birmingham, the upcoming series stars Halfman actor Jamie Bell and Stranger Things star Charlie Heaton as Duke and Charles Shelby, respectively. They find themselves in a race to rebuild the city while it is full of unprecedented opportunity and jeopardy. The new show was commissioned for two series of six hour-long episodes and will premiere in the UK on BBC iPlayer and BBC One, as well as on Netflix across the rest of the world.
