Trafford Council has launched its new Our Stories, Our Legacy exhibition for Black History Month, running throughout October at the Local Studies & Archive Centre in Sale.
Exhibition details and theme
The exhibition aims to amplify Caribbean voices and strengthen a sense of belonging in the area. This year's Black History Month theme is 'Honouring Our Communities', and the event has been developed with members of the Trafford African & Caribbean Over 50s Club.
Visitors will find a collection of personal accounts and collective histories collated by local historian Linford Sweeney and the team at the centre. The exhibition also features imagery by photographer Sonya Smith and local filmmaker Tony Reeves' documentary on The Life and Work of Whit Stennett.
