Meghan Markle shared her true feelings on pregnancy during a heart-to-heart chat with US singer Pia Toscano at the David Foster Gala. The Duchess of Sussex, who has two children with Prince Harry, told the pregnant American Idol alum that pregnancy is "the most beautiful time of your life."
Meghan's Sweet Gesture
After Toscano's performance at the gala, Meghan congratulated her on her pregnancy and touched her baby bump before making the remark. The singer, who is expecting her first child with husband Carmen Educate, later shared details of the encounter with Page Six.
Toscano, already a stepmother to her husband's five children from a previous relationship, said they've taught her much about love, patience and being a parent. She is due to give birth to their first child together, a daughter, in December.
Meghan's Own Pregnancy Experiences
Meghan welcomed her first child, a son named Archie, with Harry in May 2019. The couple, just one year after stepping back from royal duties, welcomed their second child, a daughter named Lilibet, in 2021.
During an episode of her Archetypes podcast in 2022, Meghan told guest Serena Williams that when she was pregnant, she "just waddled around." She admitted: "I was just tired. So tired. Oh my God."
Meghan also spoke about her friend's reaction to seeing pictures of her wearing heels whilst pregnant with Archie. Her friend told her, "You have the most enormous bump and your tiny little ankles are bracing themselves in these high heels."
