McDonald's New Menu Reviewed: Japan Favourite Returns

McDonald's has introduced five new menu items, including a returning favourite that a reviewer first tried in Japan. The new offerings were put to the test to see if they measure up to the overseas versions.

Black Pepper and Garlic McNuggets Score High

The Black Pepper and Garlic McNuggets were just as tasty as when tried in Japan. The only issue was that they arrived a little lukewarm. When hot and fresh, as they were overseas, they are described as absolutely incredible. The nuggets are tasty and different enough from regular menu items, making them well worth a try.

However, they tasted much nicer with the black garlic sauce from Japan, which did not come with them. The reviewer rated them 9/10.

Dragonbreath Dip and Sour Cherry Fizz

The Dragonbreath dip is really tasty and packs quite a punch for a burger takeaway joint. It is certainly spicy, so best avoided by ketchup fans. There is not much lingering aftertaste, which is good for those who do not want to reach for milk later. The reviewer, who likes spice, rated it 10/10.

The Sour Cherry Fizz had somewhat lost its fizz and tasted a little like a cordial. The reviewer thinks it would be pretty good if it were fizzy, comparing it to the potential of Sprite collaborations. It was rated 7/10.

Cheesy Potato Bites and Candy Crush McFlurry

The Blamco Cheesy Potato Bites did not meet high expectations. They were way more potatoey than anticipated, with barely any cheese, leading to a dense texture and a 'meh' flavour. They tasted better with the Dragonbreath sauce, but that was doing all the heavy lifting. If they were cheesier, as some content creators have reported, they would have potential, but these were a bit dry. They were rated 5/10.

The Candy Crush Choco McFlurry was quite nice, with crunchy digestive pieces inside making it more interesting than just eating ice cream. It was nothing life-changing and not something the reviewer would rush to order again, earning a 6/10 rating.
