Matt Baker's Wife Nicola Reveals Truth About Life Apart

Countryfile presenter Matt Baker and his wife Nicola have spoken candidly about their time apart while pursuing separate careers, with Nicola revealing she has stepped away from the farm to focus on writing children's books full-time.

From Physiotherapy to Published Author

The couple, who have been married for over 20 years and have two children together, discussed their evolving dynamic during an appearance on Lorraine. Nicola, previously a physiotherapist, has now published three children's novels in her Whistledown Farm Adventure series: Finding Hope, Rescuing Ruby, and Meeting Meg. A fourth book is scheduled for release later this year.

While Matt continues his television work and the couple manage a sheep farm in the Durham hills for their Channel 4 series Our Farm in The Dales, Nicola's writing has transitioned from a hobby into a full-time career.

Making the Most of Time Together

When host Lorraine Kelly asked about their time apart, Matt said: "We're such doers in our lives, and we're so supportive of what each other wants to do, we've just found our way through." Nicola added: "We make the most of the time that we have together and prioritise that and make the most of that."

The couple first met when Matt was performing at a disco in Cleethorpes. They married in 2004 and have two children, Molly and Luke.
