The Cheap Thrills, a Liverpool rock band from Walton, have secured back-to-back performance slots at the historic Jacaranda Baltic venue in the Baltic Triangle. The shows will support the band's debut album, Knee Cheap, which releases on September 18.
The band, consisting of Lewis Pike, Anton Eager, Terry Eaves, and Callum Fitzpatrick, has performed at major UK festivals including Liverpool's On The Waterfront and Glastonbury. Their indie-rock sound features melodic synth undertones, creating an anthemic and energetic discography.
Album release shows
The Cheap Thrills will perform at Jacaranda Baltic on September 18 and 19 to mark the album's release. Bundles are available now, including an exclusive Jacaranda Edition LP pressed on Tangerine Dream vinyl. Albums can be collected at the venue on the day of the event.
The band released the track 'Walton Vale' last year as a nod to their roots. They told the ECHO: "We loved growing up on the Vale. I think that speaks for itself with the last few bits of content we put out. The people are grounded, salt of the earth, hilarious and caring. It's a place we almost took for granted growing up, but it hasn't changed so it's getting its flowers now we're a bit older."
Community and progress
Anton said: "The Cheap Thrills have always been about progress. We don't see ourselves as the finished article or achieving all the things we want to just yet so it's important to remember it's a process and not get ahead of ourselves, family, friends and a sense of community have always been a part of this band. It's not going to change as it's just who we are."
Regarding interactions with industry figures unfamiliar with Liverpool, they reassured readers they've had "a few anti-Scouse gripes over the years but nothing we can't handle."
