Lisa Snowdon has shared a series of bikini photos from a yoga retreat in Bali, saying she feels "stronger mentally and physically" after her split from fiancé George Smart. The 54-year-old former Britain's Next Top Model presenter posted the images on Instagram during her time in Southeast Asia.
Retreat after 12-year relationship ends
Snowdon had been dating businessman Smart for 12 years but had shown no urgency to marry. In July, she was pictured without her engagement ring, sparking rumours of a break-up. She later appeared to confirm the end of the relationship by telling Prima: "I'm 54 now and see this time in my life as a new chapter. It's important to reframe ageing in a more positive way."
She added: "It takes time for that readjustment to happen, but now I'm in this powerful place where it's about, 'What do I want? What do I need?' I don't have children, so it's easier for me than mums juggling teenage children, but it's a powerful time for us to reconnect with ourselves and make big life changes. It's the second spring."
Bali snaps and yoga sessions
On Friday (September 11), the star posted a selfie from her sun lounger as she continues to "reset" her life. She appeared in a grey bikini and dark sunglasses, before showcasing her curves in a series of yoga shots. The former host also shared photos of her friends and their drinks, and stunned in a pastel-coloured bikini while sitting on a swing-seat with a cocktail.
"Bali, in Balance," she wrote in a caption. "Because wellness, for me, has never been about perfection. It's about connection." She continued: "The women you meet, the conversations that stay with you, moving your body, slowing your mind, little soul searching, maybe a good old cry and sometimes having a cold beer barefoot on the beach."
Feeling stronger and looking ahead
"A bit of ritual, a bit of real life. That balance feels really good to me. I am feeling stronger mentally and physically and it's not over yet!" Snowdon also singled out yoga instructor Fiona Allen for "bringing us together and creating such a gorgeous community" in Bali.
Prior to her apparent social media blackout of Smart, he had featured prominently. In summer, however, when Snowdon shared snaps from Wimbledon tennis, he was again absent. The pair had briefly dated 20 years ago, reconnected in 2014, and got engaged in 2016.
Despite the engagement, she had admitted she was in no hurry to marry. She previously told Hello!: "A lot of women imagine walking down the aisle. They imagine their flowers, their dresses, and I just have never had that vision. It's just a contract at the end of the day. I don't want everybody looking at me, which is weird because I do television and hosting. I'm just really relaxed and so is George. It will happen, but I just don't know what that looks like."
