Prime Video is releasing a Lily Allen documentary in 2027, offering an intimate portrait of the life and career of the pop star. The film will feature interviews with those closest to her, giving subscribers insight into her life away from the cameras.
Documentary to explore her journey
The documentary promises to show Allen as she has never been seen before, described as raw, real, and redefining. It will take a deep dive into her extraordinary journey and why she has remained a cultural force for the past two decades.
The official synopsis states: 'As a pioneering woman in modern music, Lily's sharp wit and candid storytelling directly paved the way for a generation of today's biggest female artists. This is a story of resilience, reinvention, and an artist reclaiming her narrative on her own terms. This is Lily Allen as she's never been seen before. Raw, real, and redefining what it means to thrive in the spotlight.'
Background on her recent comeback
Allen was catapulted back into the spotlight after an eight-year break with her fifth studio album West End Girl, written following the collapse of her marriage to Stranger Things star David Harbour. The couple started dating in 2019, married in 2020, and separated in 2025.
In the 14-track album, she accuses Harbour of infidelity and discusses their open marriage agreement. Harbour addressed the album in an interview with Variety, saying 'stories are complex' and that 'it wasn't my experience,' but he respects her creation of art to channel her experience.
A release date for the documentary has not yet been confirmed by Prime Video, but it will air sometime in 2027.
