Two pop music powerhouses are in Cardiff on Tuesday, June 30, performing to thousands of Welsh fans at Blackweir Live and Cardiff Castle. Lewis Capaldi kicks off two nights at Blackweir (his second gig is Wednesday, July 1), while Katy Perry performs at Cardiff Castle, just days after a festival appearance in Belgium was cancelled due to weather warnings.
Weather and Road Closures
The Met Office forecasts rain between 3pm and 5pm, but showers will die out during the evening, leaving a largely dry night with temperatures around 17-18 degrees during peak gig times.
Road closures for Blackweir Live are in place from 4pm until midnight, affecting Duke Street, Kingsway, Castle Street, North Road, Cowbridge Road East, and parts of the Civic Centre. Castle Street will close half an hour before the Katy Perry event ends and reopen when crowds disperse.
Stage Times and Set Lists
For Lewis Capaldi at Blackweir Live: doors open at 5pm, last entry 9pm. Tyler Ballgame performs at 6pm, Jacob Alon at 7pm, and Lewis Capaldi at 8.45pm, expected to finish around 10.30pm.
Katy Perry at Depot Live in Cardiff Castle: stage times are to be confirmed.
These two shows on the same night come almost a week after The Cure performed at Blackweir in 36-degree heat, with extra measures such as water points and bottle allowances to keep fans cool.
