Lee Andrews, the husband of Katie Price, has found himself at the center of another social media controversy just days after being released from prison in Dubai. The self-proclaimed millionaire, aged 43, recently returned to Instagram following a month behind bars and has been attempting to reinvent himself with personalized video messages apparently recorded for fans. However, many suspect something suspicious may be occurring.
Birthday Video Raises Questions
Lee shared a birthday greeting on Instagram addressed to a woman named Donna, whom he referred to as 'Wolfie'. He claimed that her friend Megan Rose had reached out requesting a special message. 'Now Donna, I don't know how old you are. You can't be as old as me. I had a tough paper round, and that's why I look old,' Lee joked in the video before wishing her a happy birthday on behalf of himself, Katie Price, and her friends. He also revealed he had received several other requests. 'Don't usually do Cameos, so I don't know how it works, but I'm glad to do it,' he said.
The video appeared to suggest that Lee had begun monetizing his newfound notoriety following his release from Dubai's notorious Al Awir prison. He seems to use 'Cameo' to describe posting videos requested by fans in exchange for money, though he does not yet appear to have an account on the platform itself. He mentioned that he would set one up soon at Katie's suggestion.
Allegations of Deception
However, a TikTok creator investigating the clip claims things may not be as they seem. According to the social media sleuth, she contacted one of the women tagged in the birthday video to ask about the Cameo-style message. The woman allegedly replied that she had never requested a video from Lee and had never even heard of him.
The claim has prompted fresh speculation online, with some questioning whether Lee accidentally tagged the wrong person or whether the birthday greeting was intended to create the impression of significant demand for his personalized messages. At the time of writing, there is no evidence that Lee deliberately misled followers, and it remains possible that a tagging error or misunderstanding is responsible for the confusion.
Ongoing Controversies
Lee has rarely been far from controversy in recent months. After disappearing from public view last month, he was later found to be in prison in Dubai. Following his release, he returned to social media with an extraordinary account of events, claiming he had been 'kidnapped at gunpoint', 'slapped around', and falsely accused of espionage. Dubai authorities have disputed suggestions that he was detained over spying allegations, previously describing the matter as a private civil dispute. Court documents later revealed two outstanding legal cases against Lee, including an alleged £54,000 debt linked to a rental car company and a separate claim for approximately £15,000 in unpaid legal fees.
Since returning online, followers have also become fixated on another mystery: his hair. Lee reappeared sporting what looked like a dramatically thicker and darker hairstyle than before his imprisonment, prompting widespread speculation online. The debate intensified after claims emerged that he had recently visited a Dubai hair clinic to enquire about a permanent wig before allegedly deciding not to proceed.
Now, alongside questions about his legal troubles and his latest look, social media users are attempting to work out whether his apparent new side hustle is exactly what it seems.
