Kris Marshall will be returning to his role as DI Humphrey Goodman in the Death in Paradise spin-off as filming for the upcoming series gets underway.
Filming Underway in Looe
Avid fans of Beyond Paradise have confirmed that filming in Looe has already begun, sharing a series of snaps on a fan Facebook page. In one picture, a fan shared a photo of the Shipton Abbott police station with the caption, "The police station light is back up in Looe today, this means filming is about to start." Another fan snapped pictures of the cast on set, including Kris Marshall.
Kris was spotted in one picture wearing a white vest and sunglasses as he spoke with a cast member. In another, he was dressed as DI Humphrey Goodman, wearing a beige jacket, a blue shirt, and navy blue trousers. The fan captioned the pictures, "First day of filming for the new series here in Looe, aka Shipton Abbott."
Cast and Fan Reactions
Dylan Llewellyn, who plays PC Kelby Lockhart, was also spotted in his police uniform, pushing a bicycle. Fans were thrilled by the update, with one writing, "Glad to see Kelby is still here." Another beamed, "Can't wait to see this."
In a previous interview, Kris confirmed that filming for the Death in Paradise spin-off was about to start. The actor made the revelation to Chris Evans on his programme TFI Friday Unplugged. Chris opened by saying, "Beyond Paradise is great, right? And I think it's all the greater for the fact that you are like you are right. It's a square peg in a round hole. And that's fun, isn't it?"
Kris responded: "It's quite a mad little show, and I love it." The radio presenter continued: "We're in season four now, 5,6,7 (seasons), that's probably where it's gonna be and where it's gonna go, and you'll all be happy at the end of maybe six series. Do you think they could really stir it up in season five?" Sealing his commitment to the programme, Kris stated: "Well, we're about to start shooting season five."
